Cooktown Day 3

This morning there was not any precipitation, rain showers!

Prue set off on a walk as the pool is now closed for maintenance this week. She walked all the way into town and as far as the wharf area. She browsed among the historical information that is all along the riverside.

I did a ride but was disillusioned by the wind. I tried to avoid the worst of the easterly by riding roughly north/south. So I only rode for a short time before returning to the Caravan Park.

On my return, I ended in speaking to one of our near neighbours, Eric, who comes from Casino. He and his wife work at the Maranoa Retirement Village in Alstonville. We had a lovely chat.

After we had showers, we then went back to Jackey Jackey's Coffee Shop where we had cappuccinos. While there we had a phone call from Marie and Paul who have a quite new Kimberley Karavan. They are in fact located at Marie's mother's home at the moment. They are very keen to meet and hear from other Karavan owners especially they are looking to travel  with other owners for experience. They have sold their home and now will be full time in their Karavan.

We drove out the short drive to Marie's mothers home. We chatted at length and shared a lot of stories and ideas about the Kimberley Karavans. Later in the day, they came to check our Karavan out. We are looking forward to catching them somewhere again.

Before lunch, we went to IGA to get a few items and to the butcher to get some nicer meats. After we had our lunch we just relaxed and read books or magazines..

So it was another restful day in Cooktown
